There's a new SEM in town...

Drs. Sarah Carmichael, Gabriele Casale, Jamie Levine, and Ellen Cowan from Geological and Environmental Sciences and Dr. Guichuan Hou from Biology were awarded $562,842 from the National Science Foundation (NSF MRI # 1625137) to purchase a new scanning electron microscope, and the instrument is now up and running in the Dewel Microscopy Facility.  The instrument is a JEOL JSM IT300LV SEM with Oxford silicon drift EDS and EBSD detectors, as well as a Gatan ChromaCL detector.  Click here to read more information on our new instrument and what it's capable of, and what research it will be used for.
