Marta Toran, Outreach Coordinator in the Department of Geological and Environmental Sciences (GES), received a grant from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to develop and conduct water-related outreach activities in the local Watauga, Avery, and Ashe counties. With the assistance of GES undergraduates, Toran will visit elementary, middle, and high schools to introduce students to earth science and educate our local communities on hydrologic processes and water resources.
