Drs. Sarah Carmichael, Cole Edwards, Johnny Waters, and Outreach Coordinator Marta Toran have received funding from the National Science Foundation to study mass extinctions from the Late Devonian (375-358 million years ago). Their work is part of an interdisciplinary, international collaboration of geoscientists and will involve the creation of materials for the US's Next Generation Science Standards curriculum.
