Dr. Chuanhui Gu

Dr. Gu came to Appalachian in 2009 from a postdoctoral position at the Berkeley Water Center at UC Berkeley. Dr. Gu earned his PhD in Environmental Sciences at the University of Virginia in 2007. His research focuses on the hydrological control on inorganic nitrogen loading to coastal streams. He also developed and conducted an experimental and modeling study to investigate the hillslope-scale nitrate reactive transport mechanisms across the multiple time scales from days to years. He is the winner of the 2012 Wachovia Award for Environmental Research, and recently was awarded the 2016 American Geophysical Union Reviewer Award.
